Yeahh, so it's weird news everyone. I am getting into country.. Did I just say that? I really can't believe it.. But i'll just go on as if everything is normal.
Haha anyways. It has been good these past days! I have been getting all the homework done and i've been trying to get some income coming in by donating plasma. But any small oddity in your blood be it hydration or protein can stop you from donating for a while, and that is where i am at right now. I am an undernourished, dehydrated twerp according to Biomat (Plasma donation center). Sigh. even doctors are saying it now? What is happening?? Ok time to get off my soap box. I'm sorry. It's been a good week tho! :)
I have been thinking, since it is (no-shave) November i wanted to mention a couple of things that i am grateful for. Mind you, i couldn't make a list for it would take up a lot of space. I mean a lot.. So i will mention some things that have really made an impact in my life!
First of all i am so grateful for (this one i can use two as one) my Heavenly Father and my advocate Jesus Christ! They are so AWESOME! :) I just love how they give me so much strength. Ya know? It's just great! Second off, i am grateful for my family, oh the difference they have made in my life. It really is monumental.
Third, i am so grateful for the power of the priesthood! Fourth (as i have already mentioned in my last foggy-bloggy-thingy) PRAYER is essential for happiness, yo! It makes me happier and it keeps me protected. Fifth i am grateful for the plan of salvation. What is greater than an opportunity to be able to return to our loving Heavenly Father once again? I don't know about you, but i think that that is just great :)
All this grateful stuff reminded me of something that happened while on my mission. (I'm pretty sure you will be reading a lot more of these stories)
I was in my favorite area of Universitario as i was companions with Elder Balieiro. First of all in our companionship we didn't get along very well because we had many differences between us, and i guess our pride got in the way too. But i'll say that i learned a lot in those 12 weeks with him and i am grateful for the experiences i passed through to know exactly what i shouldn't do in a same situation.
Anyways, we were walking our normal route one day late at night. (Actually we were a bit behind curfew this night so we were walking pretty fast to get home) Well right as we were turning a corner of a street and crossing, we hear a lady yell out in distress: "Heim, rapazes! Socorro por favor!!" Or in english "Hey young men! Please help me!!". You don't usually hear this as you are walking late at night on a road going home and it threw us for a loop. So i stop, look back, and see a woman in about her early 20's holding a small boy a good distance off walking rapidly towards us with a hopeless look on her face...
I'm out of time, next post i'll finish the post, yo! :)

(Yoda Voice) POWERFUL is Prayer! Yeeesss.
It seems like life is flying by... Midterms have already passed, and now i am just trying to get the hang of being normal again. Hahah... But it seems to be working. (Quite slowly, but very surely)
I have made it a point in my life to not become who I was before my best two years. THAT Skyler is long gone, and sometimes he wants to come back because those days were just so fun, carefree, and pleasurable. That's what makes it so tempting to go back.
But I was completely and utterly unhappy. And that is what keeps me clear of the traps I fell for in the past.
That is why I have made it a point to have the past remind me that the best thing that can happen (and, very literally, HAS happened on my mission) to me right now is change!
I have a question for all of you guys out there. (For the very, very, very, few that have read and are reading my first blog.)
As you been going through life where everything seems to be going just fine, and it really is, but the temptations of the enemy come in? It seems that at the very moment that we do not expect to be tempted is the exact moment that those temptations come! We must ever be prepared!
This just might be a rhetorical question because I have yet to tell everyone about my new blogging skills. ;) Well I want to know exactly what YOU do at that time that the enemy sets an ambush? How do you handle that?
I know in my life that if I stop saying my morning, and nightly prayers that leaves a HUGE gap in my life that is quite difficult to bridge over during the day. Many people that don't have a religious background may say that prayer doesn't really matter, but I can testify to you that prayer is one of the greatest things that you can do in your life! Those who say that it just doesn't matter are those who haven't really tried it, tested it, and ultimately RELIED on it. I can say that on my mission, I relied on prayer as if it were the last thing holding me up from giving in. Just like the boy Joseph Smith. A small and simple prayer brought to pass the restoration of the fullness of the gospel.
So, think just for a moment... What can you do to make prayer more meaningful in your life?
The love of the Lord is great, and in my life I have felt it ESPECIALLY on my mission. I know when I messed up and forgot to say my prayers, it's really easy to do on those days that you get up late for class, or work, or whatever it may be; and the only thing you have on your mind is to head out and get going with your day. Well the worst comes when you blow off that prompting from the Lord. Because then you do not have the promise of protection as mentioned in D&C 82:10. That is my goal in "post-mission" life. Keep close to the spirit, stay within the bounds the Lord has set, and He will be able to ever guide me (as well as you) home. Talk to your Heavenly Father today. He misses you so.

We must use the Light of Christ to influence our Free Agency, and in no time, after diligent practice, we will use our Free Agency to choose the way that the Light of Christ has influenced us in the past. It's an awesome upward cycle!"
